On our photo safari to capture tulips, Marjorie used a 35mm lens on a Canon 5D Mark II camera while I used my Sony a6000 camera with a macro lens. While en route to Topeka, I coached Marjorie on how to operate the professional camera as I wanted to use every minute in Topeka photographing tulips! I got a kick out of the hearing about Marjorie telling her mom I talked all the way to Topeka!
Marjorie did an excellent job and I'm proud and honored to show off her images. One of her beautiful images is shown below; however, a slideshow of all her captures are available for viewing on vimeo here. Enjoy!

The heart of a tulip!
My "third daughter" Marjorie and I drove to Topeka to photograph the tulips at the Ted Ensley Garden. My favorites from the images I took are shown below. On most of my images, I used a macro feature of my 90nm Sony lens so that I could get in close to photograph the "heart" of some tulips. Macro photography is like viewing nature from a different world! It's amazing!
In a few days I will share Marjorie's tulip images in the form of a slideshow, so be on the lookout!

Fields of Colorful Tulips
While in Topeka, Kansas, taking portraits during photo sessions, I slipped in some personal shots of the beautiful tulips in bloom at the Ted Ensley Garden and the Doran Rock Garden in Gage Park. I've included my favorite images of the colorful tulips for you to enjoy!

Beautiful tulips in Kansas
Here are my tulip images from my trip with Marjorie. I have been wanting to go take tulip photos for the last several years but didn't want to go by myself. I enjoyed sharing this experience with my good friend. We were in tulip heaven!!! I didn't realize there were so many different colored tulips! We were privileged to catch most of them at their peak. I've included my favorite tulip images for you to enjoy!

Tulips, etc. by Marjorie
My friend Marjorie accompanied me to photograph tulips in downtown Wamego, Kansas, then we drove to Ted Ensley Garden in Topeka to photograph more tulips. I was so impressed with the quality of Marjorie images! They have not been altered except to darken them and enhance the color to match the original scene. I had no idea what Marjorie was photographing as I was so focused on getting images for myself. This first image is my favorite that Marjorie took. She did an awesome job and I have included my favorites for your viewing pleasure. To view all of her images, they are available on vimeo here.
