Woo hoo! March 23 is National Puppy Day!

We would be remiss if we didn't share images of our puppy Toto and Charlie (who is past puppy stage) for National Puppy Day! :)  The other evening, I spent some time capturing Toto and Charlie as they played outside. They are like two little kids when they have our attention as they love to show off!  They always want what the other one has.  Isn't that like human, I mean puppy nature?  I've included my favorite captures of them taken during the beautiful "golden hour!"  Enjoy!

In case you are wondering what a buckboard is, it is a four-wheeled wagon meant to be drawn by a horse or other large animal. The "buckboard" is the front-most board on the wagon that acts as both a footrest for the driver and protection for the driver from the horses' rear hooves in case of a "buck."

Our neighbors had the buckboard set out near the road a couple years ago with a "Free" sign on it.  We used it for a display then my hubby recently remodeled it and enjoys hauling folks around by pulling the buckboard with the lawn tractor!

Fabian and Andrea were the second folks privileged to ride on it.  We fitted them both with cowboy hats and boots to match the theme.  Here are both of their favorites from their "buckboard" excursion!  Enjoy!

A beautiful foggy morning and my favorite steer!

I have had a lot of folks ask me if I enjoy living in the country.  They are usually ones that can't imagine themselves doing so.  Sure, it takes extra gas going to and from town and you can hardly have a clean car driving on the gravel roads, but those are a few disadvantages that I know of and don't outweigh the benefits. One is of the beautiful scenery that we are blessed to enjoy, and this morning was one of those occasions.  Since I was using the long camera lens, I was able to capture a bird in each of the three scenes below taken from our driveway facing west and north.  During my photo excursion, my favorite steer showed up wanting my attention. We currently have six angus steers and all of them are all black and brown except for this white-faced one.  Isn't he cute?
